Meet Dr. Urvi Patel (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ)

Dr. Urvi Patel is an optometric physician in Hasbrouck Heights providing complete eye care services for the whole family.

Dr. Patel graduated from SUNY-University at Albany in 2016 with a bachelors in biology and minor in psychology. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 2020. She successfully completed her externship rotation at OMNI Eye Services, Levin Family Eye Care, SUNY In-House Clinics, and SUNY Specialty Contact Lens Clinic. Her experience allows her to provide comprehensive eye exams, manage various ocular diseases, and fit specialty contact lenses. Dr. Patel is especially passionate about treating ocular disease, including dry eye disease and myopia control.

Dry eye is becoming more prevalent in every age group. This is partly due to blink rates decreasing with computer use, diet, health conditions, and other environmental factors There are many treatment options for dry eye and Dr. Patel utilize most. She is trained and certified in the use of IPL, Intense Pulse Light, treatment to reduce inflammation in the eye and improve the quality of oils expressed in the eyes.

Dr. Patel attends various seminars to stay current with the newest treatment guidelines and advances in the field. In her free time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, and travelling.
